My Children

Months ago, I posted pictures of my Miss B. I had every intention of following up with posts and pictures of the rest of my kiddos. But as is common around here, life got in the way of my best intentions. It seems something is always going on. Taking time to photograph my own children {outside the typical snapshots} takes a whole lot of coordination. In fact these photos actually came from two separate sessions this week, after finally deciding I must get recent pictures of them all.

So after months and months, here are my children.

{I’ll post about my wonderful, supportive, talented and incredibly handsome husband another time.}

Jacob is our oldest. He’s going to be 15 soon. He’s tall and smart and takes after his father. They are cut from the same cloth. He owns his own lawn mowing business and is working on his Eagle Scout. He loves to travel and is a scholar. He spends most of his time studying. He has big plans to change the world. And he’s learning to play the guitar.

Mr. Josh is our middle son. He’s a comedian. He turned 10 this summer and wears a size 10 men’s shoe {he’s not a small child}. He has an outrageous imagination. He can transform any situation into one of his own choosing. He loves to laugh and make others laugh. And Miss B loves him. Loves him like she loves no one else {besides Daddy}. That says a lot. He wants to be a bush pilot when he grows up. He helped his brother mow lawns this summer, saved his money and bought himself an electric scooter.

Sam-a-Lam is our youngest son. He’ll be 8 any minute now. He’s quiet and pensive. But if you spend enough time with him, he’ll talk your ear off. He’s very observant and has a lot to say. Just not in front of strangers. He has a tender heart and loves to sit in my lap and read books. He’s a fisherman. The only one in our family. And he wants a bb gun.

And then there is Miss B. She’s delightful. She’s 15 months old and gives her smiles away freely. She’s had her glasses now for 2 months, and somehow they made her cuter than ever. She loves to wear them. Because now she can see. The first thing she does in the morning after waking is seek her brothers. She toddles to one bedroom and then the other to say good morning. It’s the perfect wake-up call. She is adored by all, but holds a special place in her brothers’ hearts. Their connection to each other gives me great joy.

I am blessed. I am blessed to be a mother to these amazing children. Wife to my best friend and soul mate. I am blessed with the opportunity to take photographs daily that capture moments. Moments that families will cherish forever. I know I will cherish these always.
