We don’t have cable at Casa de Earle; we watch television via Hulu or Netflix. It’s easier that way, more contained and controlled. We also have a ton of TV shows that we purchased a few years ago on iTunes. We downloaded the classics: Smurfs, Johnny Quest, Modern Marvels, Battle 360, Arthur, The Flintstones, Jetson’s, Scooby-Doo, Major Military Events, and The Revolution among other shows. The boys would watch them on our iPod Classic during road trips, doctor’s appointments, and plane rides. It came in pretty handy.
Miss B wasn’t so interested in Major Military Events so we downloaded an episode of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse for her. She loves it. She’ll sit still for the entire twenty minutes completely absorbed and then watch it over and over again. (Click here for pictures.)
I asked Jana from J. Marie Designs if she would make Miss B a Minnie Mouse dress. When she brought the dress by last week I was tickled by how cute it was!! (And it’s reversible!)
*Here’s Miss B chasing after her big brother, Jacob.
I don’t often take my camera with me when we’re out and about running errands, but yesterday I kept it with me after taking some pics of Miss B in all her cuteness in our yard. And it totally paid off. The fields are in bloom and I was ecstatic to capture some pictures of Miss B with the flowers. My camera, Miss B and I have history in this field of flowers.
Two years ago when Miss B was newborn, I got my first DSLR. I was overwhelmed and unsure of how to use it. The fields were in bloom then too. I thought it would be the perfect place for a photo op. I didn’t know anything about lighting, metering, aperture, or shutter speed. It was a lot of trial and error. Every time I drive by this field full of flowers I think of those early moments with my camera. I was stressed and anxious and frustrated that I didn’t understand how it all worked. I’m so glad I persisted and figured it out!
Photography is now part of my daily life, both with my family and others. I couldn’t be happier or have more joy in what I do! I love capturing the little moments that tell the story of our life.
