(Note: If you are interested in attending A Day with Amy Photography Workshop, there are two new classes that have just opened up on November 12th and 19th.)
I’ve been working on preparations for the Day With Amy PRO Workshop. I’m so excited about it! I have so many things to share: workflow, lighting, editing… and so much more. It’s going to be two and a half days of teaching it all, and it’s going to be amazing! Tonight I took Miss B out to get some shots I needed for behind the scenes. Let me tell you, taking pictures of a busy two year old is not easy. This little girl never stops moving. It may look like she’s pensive and posing, but that is not the case. She loves to evade me and the lens. Making eye contact with her is next to impossible (no matter what crazy noises I’m making) and I spend most of my time chasing after her. All the while I’m keeping my eye on the light, exposure, focus and composition… it’s definitely a process. But I love it. I love her. I treasure capturing these moments that will forever remind me of life with Miss B when she was two years old.
And a huge thank you to my ever amazing assistant (also known as my husband, Jake) who herded Miss B back to my camera over and over again and made sure I had just the right light for the pics. I love that he can read my mind and anticipate what I need.
And for all of you who have taken my workshop, you’ll know what I’m talking about when I say, NOW is the time to get out there and capture that gorgeous light as the sun is setting! It doesn’t happen year round for us Alaskans. Winters are crazy cold and in the summer the sun doesn’t set till midnight (if that, depending on where you are in Alaska). So we have to hurry and take advantage of our stunning fall colors and sunsets at a decent hour! These pictures were taken around 6:45 (ish) just before the sun set behind the mountains. I don’t know about you, but I’m hoping for another gorgeous day tomorrow!
Perhaps my favorite in the whole series…
