We’ve made it to Tennessee! It’s 6pm and the sun is setting. Gosh I adore this time of day when the sun is on its way down. The golden glow begs me to grab my camera. It’s the perfect time for pictures.
We’ll be in Nashville tonight and we’ll get to visit friends. Friends that Jake and I have known since before we were married! Their 4 girls are the perfect compliment to our 3 boys. I was forward enough to ask if we could shower at their house and do a load or two of laundry. They generously agreed, and I’m so thankful because this bus is full of some stinky boys! I also love the option of multi tasking – visiting and doing laundry- yay! Especially when we are spending all day driving in a bus.
Miss B is sitting across from me in her car seat. She’s fast asleep and her head is bobbing with the motion of the bus. It’s not really a smooth ride of The Big Blue Bus. It would be a good place to wear a sports bra.
We made good time today, through Georgia and halfway through Tennessee. We hope to get to Chicago tomorrow where we’ll visit my sister and her family. I can’t remember the last time I saw them. 2010 I think.
The boys are all reading. Jacob is reading Mistborn, Josh is reading The Fellowship of the Ring, and Sam is reading The Sea of Monsters. Miss B’s current favorite is her ABC book. We brought a well-stocked mini library with us. When we started this journey we decided to limit electronics and media and encouraging reading and writing. I’ll keep you updated on how it goes.
We’re close to arriving at our friend’s house, so I should go straighten the bus so we look slightly presentable when we get there. Talk to you soon!
